MRI
staff has carried out numerous studies concerned with career
planning, executive development, and performance assessment
issues. They have published widely in the areas of career
development and have developed and evaluated approaches for
enhancing the mentoring process consistent with individual and
organizational goals.
Staff has also been at the forefront in
developing models and algorithms for relating training input
variables (e.g., trainee characteristics), training content
and methods with performance outcomes. They have developed innovative
programs for the diagnosis of human error probabilities in complex
systems, for reductions or aircraft accidents due to human performance,
for the on-going evaluation of operators of complex systems.
Other developments have included devising
effective methods for integrating individuals into work teams,
assessing team performance, and developing leadership, goal
setting, and motivational skills.
